Adam appears to be somewhat of a front runner heading into the finals. Each week he has stunned the judges with how competently he handles all of the music genres thrown his way. He has rocked, swooned and was even able to skate through the “country” week. He truly is a versatile performer. It is hard not to see his natural ease on stage, and it doesn’t hurt that he resembles Elvis. Adam can certainly handle the career that is surely to come from this competition. He exudes complete confidence and control each and every week.

This station is a hodge podge of a station, playing a little bit of everything. It really is a fun station that brings back memories – totally catered toward the 20 and 30-somethings, with most songs being from the 80s and 90s.

Last year I wrote an article called “Ultimate Christmas Playlist for Your Christmas Party.” This article has Christmas songs by various artists such as Bon Jovi, Smashing Pumpkins, Extreme, No doubt and even Alice Cooper. This year 2009 favorite Christmas music play list will include oldies, and newbie’s and in-betweens.

This is one of the newer stations in the market. Coupled with the previous listed station, 102.3 The Mountain, these two used to simulcast another easy listening station, which then turned into The Buzz, an all 80s station. Then, the two frequencies broke up, one going back to the AC format and the other, the polar opposite- rock and roll!

The thing is, nobody was at fault. We were a swing band and we played swing music, they wanted a boogie band so they could shake their flab around the floor (yes I’m still bitter) unfortunately the difference between the two is no doubt pretty clear.

Acoustic or electric is going to be the main question and both have their pros and cons. Acoustic guitars are pretty straightforward and you don’t need to buy and lug around a ton of gear every time you want to play. Acoustics are lighter than electrics and there isn’t too much to go wrong with them if they are looked after. Electric guitars require an amp at least and that means extra expense. However electrics are usually more comfortable to play for a beginner and, depending on the music style, more forgiving to the inevitable fingering mistakes we all make.

Finally, if you want relief for stress, don’t underestimate the power of music and the benefits it can bring. Of course regular walking, eating healthy, and proper sleep are great for easy stress relief. But the next time you hear your teenager playing “that garbage”, he may just be relieving some good ol’ fashion stress.
